Mexico is absolutely filled with things to do and see. It is truly unique and is a place that everyone should visit at least once in their life. Going there is one thing, but doing the right things is another thing altogether. I made this list to make sure that you cover all the right bases, so I hope you enjoy reading more about it.
Visit the historical sites
Mexico has an incredibly interesting history, especially with two very prominent civilisations that lived there. These were the Aztecs and the Maya peoples, and a huge number of ruins from these civilisations are located on the Yucatan Peninsula and it is a great idea to look into the amazing Riviera Maya vacation rentals by the beach. There are a number of ancient cities, pyramids (stepped pyramids rather than the Egyptian triangular pyramids) and temples for you to explore in a range of environments, like jungles or even on the beach.
Mingle with the locals
Mexicans are some of the best natured people that i have ever met in my entire life and are probably my favourites for their friendliness and helpfulness. It really is a joy to see them giving so much effort to those they barely even know. Interacting with the locals is without a doubt something that you need to do and it will only enrich your experience even further. I learnt a little bit of Spanish before I went and it was such a great idea and I got the feeling that the locals appreciated it even more.
This world famous drink is made from the very unique agave plant and is one of the best exports to come out of Mexico. Trying authentic 100 percent agave tequila in Mexico is another level compared to the tequila you are probably used to. It just tastes better, cleaner and much smoother than the typical, cheaper bottles that you can buy in other countries. I know a lot of people that have never liked tequila until trying it in Mexico and then they were instantly converted. You should definitely bring a bottle or two back to enjoy at home too!
Hit the beach
Mexico is world famous for its beaches, particularly those on the Yucatan peninsula. The waters are the deepest blue that you will ever see in your life and the sand white and squeaky. The great thing is that the beaches here share the same sea as the Caribbean islands (the Caribbean Sea) so naturally the waters are crystal clear and beautiful.
